The presence and ministry of The Episcopal Church in Lake County since 1877.
Saint John's continues to work with families affected by the Valley, Jerusalem, and Rocky Fires. The Valley Fire Fund has given assistance to more than 1000 people affected by the fire with help with food and gas, rental deposits, lot clean up and repair, as well as helping with various needs of families as they cope with rebuidling their lives. Thank you to the Episcopal Relief and Development Agency, the Diocese of Northern California, and to the many churches in Northern California and around the country who have contributed to our fire relief efforts.
We are very pleased to announce that the Rev. Delia Fay has agreed to be our long-term supply priest. Mother Delia will usually be with us on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month. She drives from Chico to Lakeport. Welcome Mother Delia!
Volunteer opportunities at St. John’s Episcopal Church
If you’re friendly, frequent thrift stores, and have an hour or two to share, perhaps you’re just the person to volunteer in St. John’s Thrift Shop.
“Volunteers are needed, especially to help sort the overstock,” said Nancy Carter, thrift shop manager. “Even an hour or two would be appreciated.”
If you’re interested, leave a message for Carter at (707) 900-1777.
The church thrift shop is open Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the corner of Clearlake Ave. and North Forbes Street in Lakeport, entrance on Clearlake Ave. behind the church.
